      Important Information:
    What is an Occasional Goalie?

Occasional Goalies are members who are not permanently assigned to a team but may be called upon to substitute when a permanent goalie is unavailable.

Occasional Goalies also have access to:

    • On-ice activities, such as skills development sessions and shinnies.
    • Off-ice events, including the holiday party and year-end banquet.

    Please note:

    • Occasional Goalies are non-voting members and cannot participate in Board elections.
    • Completing this registration does not guarantee substitute games or permanent placement.
    • New or previously unassessed goalies may be invited to participate in an on-ice assessment before being approved for play.
    How does it work?

When a permanent goalie is unavailable, the Goalie Coordinator may contact eligible Occasional Goalies to fill the opening.

Substitute assignments are coordinated in accordance with the TGHA Player Replacement and Substitution Policy. Opportunities are distributed as fairly as possible while ensuring all scheduled games have goalie coverage.

Please keep an eye on your inbox throughout the season, as goalie opportunities may arise on short notice.

    Can Occasional Goalies Become Permanent?

Yes. Occasional Goalies may be considered for a Permanent Playing Goalie position if a roster spot becomes available, subject to the TGHA Constitution, registration priorities, and applicable League policies.

      Goalie Questionnaire:

As part of registration, you'll be asked to complete a brief questionnaire about your goalie experience, availability, and current comfort level in net. TGHA welcomes goalies of all experience levels, and this information helps us coordinate goalie coverage and support your development within the League.
