IMPORTANT INFORMATION
What is an Occasional Playing Member?
Occasional Playing Members are substitute players who are not permanently assigned to a team but are eligible to step in when needed. They also get access to:
- On-ice activities: Skills development sessions and shinnies.
- Off-ice events: Holiday party and year-end banquet.
However, Occasional Playing Members:
- Are non-voting members of the league (cannot participate in Board nominations/elections).
- May not be guaranteed a substitute spot for games but are still welcome to participate in other league activities.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
This season, teams can request substitute players to fill vacancies on a game-by-game basis when they have fewer than 10 confirmed skaters. Substitutes must have a similar skill rating to the absent player to ensure competitive balance.
In addition to players on the Occasional Player list, other league members are also eligible to substitute. When a substitute is needed, an email will be sent to all eligible players of the same skill level as the absent player. The substitution is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Can Occasional playing members become permanent?
Yes! Occasional Playing Members may become Permanent Playing Members if placed on a team following the TGHA's Player Replacement and Substitution Policy.
